About The Event

Free and open to everyone!

Cherokee County has no ordinance on the books for data centers, and developers are already looking at our land. The Board of Commissioners has put a 30 day moratorium in place and scheduled a public meeting on August 18 to talk about what comes next.

That public meeting is our window. But showing up is not the same as showing up prepared.

Come learn what data centers actually mean for Cherokee County. Water use. Power demand on our grid. Noise. Property values. Tax abatements that shift the burden onto residents. What strong local ordinances look like in other Georgia counties, and what weak ones cost.

We will walk through the issues, share what we know about who is buying property here, and get everyone ready to give clear, specific, informed feedback to the commissioners on August 18.

Prime Group Holdings, just one of many developers pushing small data centers across metro Atlanta, already owns property in Cherokee County. They will be knocking on our door. Read what happened when Marietta City Council took this up in July:

https://www.ngacan.org/post/the-data-center-fight-isn-t-over-what-really-happened-at-marietta-city-council-on-wednesday-july-8

This is not a partisan issue. Neighbors across the political spectrum want the same thing: a county that decides its own future instead of having it decided for us. Bring a friend. Bring your questions.

Seating is limited by the meeting room. Arrive a few minutes early.
