In one of Cherokee County's fastest growing cities, the decisions made in that chamber rarely match what residents actually want.
Woodstock CAN is where neighbors stopped accepting that. We are the founding branch of NGA CAN, and we have been showing up since 2024, mic or no mic.
You already suspect they aren't listening.
You have watched this council approve the development, raise the concern nobody addressed, and govern like the room was empty. You have probably wondered whether showing up even changes anything, or whether speaking up just paints a target on your back.
Those fears are not irrational. We know exactly what this city hall does when a resident gets uncomfortable to hear. We have been on the receiving end of it. And we are still here.
We have stood at that podium. They cut the mic. We finished anyway.
Woodstock CAN is the founding branch of the North Georgia Community Action Network, a volunteer led, nonpartisan collective across Cherokee, Pickens, Bartow, Forsyth, and Cobb counties. We are not a political party. We are neighbors who got tired of waiting for someone else to do something.
We organize around local government accountability, housing affordability, immigrant rights, and civic participation. We track what officials do with your tax dollars, we show up at city hall, and we make noise when it matters. We have built something this council can no longer pretend not to see. You will not be standing up there alone.
Here is how you plug in.
Step 1: Join NGA CAN and tell us you want the Woodstock branch.
Step 2: Come to one thing. A Saturday on Main, a bridge action, a council meeting. Just one.
Step 3: Keep showing up. A council that knows residents are watching governs differently than one that thinks nobody came.

If we show up: A city hall that knows the room is full and the cameras are on. Where cutting a mic makes the news instead of making a problem disappear. Where the people who live here set the terms.
The difference is who fills the chamber. They are counting on it being nobody.
