After Our Saturday Stands, We Take It to the Bridge!
Woodstock CAN, a branch of North Georgia Community Action Network (NGA CAN), holds this weekly action immediately following our Saturday Stands in Canton and Woodstock (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM). Head straight here when the stands wrap up. This is a space built by and for residents of Cherokee, Pickens, Bartow, Forsyth, and Cobb counties.
This event is designed for people who live, work, or have deep roots in North Georgia. If you're more than an hour's drive from Woodstock, this probably isn't your event, and that's okay! We encourage you to find or build a local group in your own community. Our work is most effective when it's rooted in the neighborhoods and county commissions we actually vote in.
Every Saturday, we hit the streets with signs to demand an end to Trump's regime of deportations and billionaire handouts — and we're not stopping. We take our message to the Highway 92 bridge sidewalks over I-575, where tens of thousands of drivers can't miss us.
Bridge visibility actions are some of the most powerful peaceful resistance happening in America right now, reaching commuters who'd never see a rally or march. Every honk is a neighbor saying: we see you. We agree. We're not alone.
Meeting Point Meet directly on the Highway 92 bridge sidewalks over I-575. Park at Home Depot (9037 GA-92, Woodstock, GA 30189) or any nearby shopping center lot and walk to the bridge. Use your own judgment on parking.
What to Know - Non-permitted First Amendment protest on public sidewalks only - Stay away from curbs and traffic - Do not block sidewalks or entrances - Peaceful, disciplined, visible, and lawful presence
What We're Saying Every Saturday we stand together, Black, brown, and white, native and newcomer:
Every family belongs
Disappearances are abuse, not policy
Corporations must stop enabling ICE
Profit should never come from human suffering
Bring a Sign The more messages on that bridge, the louder we are. Some ideas:
"Stop the Disappearances"
"No Profits From Pain"
"Families Belong Together — In Woodstock Too"
"Honk If You Love Democracy"
See you on the bridge!
