Cherokee Young Democrats Blue Wave Summer Kickoff!

Between school runs, work deadlines, and weekend sports, finding the time to research local candidates can feel like a second job. To bridge the gap between busy voters and local leadership, Cherokee Young Democrats is hosting Blue Wave Summer Kick-Off on Saturday, June 6 at the Cherokee Veteran’s Park Pavilion!

This family-friendly "meet and greet" is specifically designed for parents and young professionals who are deeply impacted by local policy but often sidelined by the demands of family life. Local elections impact everything from our parks to our property taxes, yet the people with the most at stake—young families—are often the least represented at the polls. We’re removing the barriers. You don’t need a babysitter to meet your next Georgia State Representative or Senator. You just need to show up, grab a popsicle, and let the kids play while you get the answers you need and want.

What to expect: Casual, one-on-one "pavilion chats" with local candidates. Free popsicles, bubble machines, temporary tattoo station and immediate access to the playground. No long speeches! Just meaningful, "come-as-you-are" engagement.

The Little Sober Bar Popup will be joining us, and details on a food truck are TBD. Registration is required to ensure enough treats (and safety) for everyone.

Our goal is to make local government feel as accessible as a Saturday morning at the park. Because when parents vote, the whole community wins.
