This land isn't even in Woodstock today. The city would pull it in and waive its own rules so an outside developer can pack in 220 houses. You inherit the traffic, the crowded schools, and the flooding. The developer takes the profit and leaves, and the next neighborhood has a harder time saying no.

The developer swore under oath there is "no reasonable use" for this land except its project. That is a lie. About 130 families live at Ansley Park, many for decades, with kids in local schools and jobs in Woodstock. If the Council calls a lived-in neighborhood worthless because a builder wants the land, no neighborhood is safe. Yours included.

To fit 220 houses, the plan cuts lot sizes to less than half on land already boxed in by a flood zone and steep hills. More roofs and pavement in a flood zone push more water into someone's yard. And Georgia law is clear: a developer can't overbuild on purpose, then demand a special break to make its own plan work.

This trades a lived-in community for houses most of Woodstock could not afford. About half of Woodstock households earn $100K a year or less. The developer has not named a price, but David Weekley's other new Woodstock homes start near $485,000 and pass $1 million. The families losing their homes could never buy one. Neither could half of Woodstock.
